  2. WWW is only at the periphery of my attention, so I
  3. apologize if my comment is not "on point" and is not
  4. very elaborated.

  6. I believe the growing pains of HTML can only be
  7. resolved by evolving to the SGML architectural
  8. form concept, as exemplified by HyTime.  That is
  9. not to say that WWW architectural forms should
  10. *be* HyTime, but *a* set of architectural forms
  11. will provide a baseline for WWW browsers.  It
  12. will be impossible to arrive at a monolithic 
  13. answer for all problems from whitespace to
  14. tables.  Different WWW applications will arise
  15. although this should never preclude the most
  16. minimal application.  In fact, one of the chief
  17. benefits will be the ability to preserve a
  18. minimal application which is the key to 
  19. rapid and wide diffusion of the concept.
